Itinerary

Day 1Arrive in Kumasi

Morning
Pickup to hotel
Check into your hotel Kumasi,

Afternoon:
Visit the Manhyia Palace Museum – residence of the Asantehene (Ashanti King).
Learn about the history and governance of the Ashanti Kingdom.

Evening:
Dinner at The View Bar and Grill or Moti Mahal Restaurant.
Optionally, attend a local cultural performance if available (drumming/dance).

Day 2Nature + Traditional Craft Villages

Morning:
Depart for Lake Bosomtwe, a beautiful crater lake (1 hr drive).
Enjoy canoeing, horseback riding, or a lakeside walk.

Afternoon:
Visit the craft villages on your return:

Ahwiaa (wood carving)
Ntonso (Adinkra cloth stamping)
Bonwire (famous for Kente weaving)

Evening:
Return to Kumasi.
Dinner and relax

Day 3Historical Tour + Shopping

Morning:
Visit Prempeh II Jubilee Museum at the Kumasi Cultural Centre.
Walk around Kejetia Market – one of West Africa’s largest open-air markets. You’ll see everything from fabric and beads to herbs and carvings.

Afternoon:
Explore the Kumasi Fort and Military Museum.

Evening:
Try street food or eat at Kumasi City Mall.
Optional: Visit a lounge for music (e.g., Vienna City or Ol’Lady Sports Bar).

Day 4Off-the-Path Adventure

Morning:
Day trip to Bobiri Butterfly Sanctuary – about 30 minutes from Kumasi. Enjoy a guided forest walk, bird watching, and butterfly viewing.

Afternoon:
Visit Owabi Wildlife Sanctuary (if you’re interested in nature, monkeys, and hiking trails). Or swap for Adanwomase village if you skipped the craft villages.

Evening:
Return to Kumasi.
Dinner and storytelling session with a local guide (can be arranged in advance).

Day 5Final Tour + Departure

Morning:
Visit the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site – an important spiritual and cultural site.
Final shopping for souvenirs (Kente, beads, woodwork).

Afternoon
Check out of hotel.
